The new Code Orange album is quite the weird one. It's like one of those free comps you get from a label and every band sounds the same, then there are one or two bands on it where you're like "how the hell does this band fit in on this label?". Except this is one band doing all this. It's my AOTY so far.

the new Ghost Bath isn't too bad but it's way too long. They should have cut the four instrumentals and maybe one or two of the lesser songs and expanded what was left. But at least it's not as much a Deafheaven clone as the last one.

 Checked out new Suffocation and yeah just some bland ass death metal. Hopefully dont play much off of it. Suffocation are one of those bands now like Slayer once were who I get their albums out of a sense of duty. But I never really like them. It took Christ Illusion for me to finally say goodbye to Slayer. Suffocations albums since the return have maybe one good albums worth of material between all four of them, most of that coming from the self-titled album. I haven't heard the new one yet but I ordered it because it's Suffocation, they still rule live no matter who's singing and I want to support them however I can. But maybe this will be their Christ Illusion?

That Suffo/Slayer comparison is fair.
Lorde cool chill indie pop. Dig more than first album. '68 similar to first album. A bit more structured and less chaotic rock though. Death Grips steriods is fun that seems more mainstream. Instrumentally I mean. Prefer if it was cut up then a solo song though.
