Look I have been out of the metal scene for a while, in terms of concerts. So when I saw this line-up was playing 20 minutes away from me and my good homie was going I said hell yeah.

Revocation:
Missed Withered cause who cares and got in right when Revo started. Never will see this band headline and bust out a more varied set sadly. Sounded tight as ever and had the best guitar solos of the night. More old school fans in attendance cause crowd was tame during their set. Main band I went for and they delivered a sweet short set. 8.5/10

Suffocation
Suffo has a Deathcore kid filling for vocals while they tour. Well he is solid in terms of Suffocation vocal delivery but man he says all that annoying shit during songs. "CIRCLE PIT!" "FUCK THIS PLACE UP!" "IGNORANT VIOLENCE NOW!" Band sounded heavy as hell still. Actually, now that I ventured into more hardcore music I realized that Suffo has brutal as fuck breakdowns. Makes you want to bust out that KARATE! They busted out 3 new songs.  Clarity sounded cool live, the rest not so much. Some roided out freak (Brian Cage?) came out to guest sing on Funeral. It was guttural bliss. Nice set all around and the crowd was bonkers during all of it. 8/10

Morbid Angel
I bought tickets prior to knowing what they would be playing. At first I was like damn but come on David left. I mean this is what I get for seeing Death Angel at Scion Fest and being left out of Pomona Fox Theater during Morbid Angel cause of capacity. All I hear of is how glorious that set and bonkers the crowd was . Anyways set was Gateways and Formulas heavy. Kinda all blended together live. Heretic songs were boring as fuck though, as was the new song. Band themselves are rather lifeless as well. No talks in between and just stand there head banging. I mean some songs were so heavy live and demanded you fuck kids up (I, Covenant of Death, Nothing Is Not) but at other times kinda just a never ending death metal sequence. I applaud them going 1.5+ hours though. Not many artists go past the 1 hour mark now. Mainly mainstreams folks but they rant and do visual shit. Oh DJ's too but I feel they do jack shit as well. Anyways cool to see the legends themselves. Crowd was split at times going nuts and moshing like mad men and at other times not caring. Maybe they did not know the set in advance? 7.5/10

Overall:  It was cool to hang out with my boi Scott(former SRM90 of metalsetlists) and shoot the shit with him as we saw some cool bands. Angel left me disappointed but it was expected. Everyone else was dope. Metal scene was different then I recall. Mainly head banging and one big ass circle pit. No jumping and swaying, less sing alongs. Also way too much gals there just so they be BROOTAL with their man. Like every chick there was trying to be hard and taking selfies "OH I AM AT A METAL SHOW SO TOUGH!" Though this did let me see a whale eat shit when she tried to mosh with her skinny chick friend. Spilled beer all over herself. It was has hilarious.
