As of right now, this is the last PWG DVD I have that I will be writing up. I ordered the last 5 shows yesterday so I'm stoked to finally check out BOLA 2017 once it gets released!
This was a decent show, but felt really short (just under 2 hours). Most of the matches barely broke the 10 minute mark, so it felt like an episode of Raw or Smackdown... but the good matches were fun.
Singles Match
Brandon Bonham vs. Nemesis
- Nothing super good. Decent match. Brandon Bonham would be a PWG regular fr the next few years, but this was his first show and the crowd as really behind him. It's weird seeing Nemesis at Reseda... he just reeks of old sloppy PWG at their other venues haha.
Singles Match
Candice LaRae vs. LuFisto
- Pretty gnarly girl match. Fun spots, and decent action. Like the next match, mainly just there to build to the main event.
Singles Match
Chris Hero vs. Claudio Castagnoli
- This is probably one of their weaker matches that I have seen between the two, but still a good match. This was impromptu because Claudio and Human Tornado came out to attack Candice, so Hero came to make the save. Simple match that was mainly there to build to the main event.
PWG World Tag Team Title Match
The Dynasty (Joey Ryan & Scott Lost) (w/Jade Chung) (c) vs. El Generico & Kevin Steen
- DAMN good match! I really enjoyed this a lot. I guess Steen had been out of PWG for quite some time, so this was a return match for him. Great tag team work from both sides, but especially Steen and Generico, who won the titles!
DDT4 Qualifying Round Robin Series Four Corners Elimination Match
Hook Bomberry & TJ Perkins vs. Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre) vs. Ronin & Scorpio Sky vs. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson)
- Fun spotfest of a match. There were some weird spots in it though, and the rules made little sense (first fall is an elimination, then the next fall wins... I think). Still cool seeing the Bucks back when they were fresh. Still had the energy, but not the bleeding charisma.
Street Fight
Candice LaRae & Chris Hero vs. Human Tornado & LuFisto
- This was ok, but went a bit too long. LuFisto looked like she got legit knocked loopy. Really fun after match brawl between a ton of people that looked like a legit shoot. It built a lot of energy for the next show.... which I don't think I have
So yeah... that was my quick review. Show was ok, nothing really OMG MUST WATCH, but easy to put in and relax to.
