watching the WWE newspeak ECW shows is horrible because of the music

That's for sure.
Shit, I have a bunch DVDs from the promotion EVOLVE, and their early shows all had everyone using "generic" themes. There were only maybe 5 songs total, so a lot of repeats throughout the shows. Despite the in ring work being some of the best, that really downgraded it quite a bit.

Anyone else gonna try out the new World of Sport TV wrestling show?

It is out there if you know where to look. Debating between watching that or the newest ROH tv episode in a bit.

I LOVE Ring of Honor so much, but their TV episodes can be real hit or miss. Is the most recent one the one with matches from their UK tour? That one was pretty solid. The tag match between the Bucks of Youth and Scurll/Ospreay was really fun. I want to get the DVD's of those shows so I can see the not edited down versions

I loved ROH in 2015 but last year was really up and down for them. While their partnership with New Japan no doubt is a plus for them, it seems to have hurt their booking a lot. They would book PPV matches that had no build to them because guys were over in Japan and couldn't do their tapings. Some of their TV shows aired out of time with stuff that happened on PPV. Hopefully, this year they'll straighten it out. And for fucks sake, finally give Christopher Daniels a world title reign.

For sure! I forgot if I posted this on MS or not, but to me ROH really has three separate storylines you have to follow, and they rarely connect with each other

You have their TV episodes which are VERY BEHIND when it comes to telling a story and being up to date... especially since we had Final Battle, then the next TV episode that week had NO MENTION of any of the PPV results (I know it was taped in advance, but still... when it comes to keeping viewers involved....)

Then you have their VOD/DVD releases that don't get put on TV, unless its just a match or two. Such as when Ospreay and Scurll won the TV title. A HUGE thing (title change...) that doesn't get shown on TV and you have to pay extra to watch, or watch the PPV to find out (or internet to just read about it). From what I've seen, these events that are not TV tapings seem to have some really good matches that need to be seen easier.

Lastly, the PPV's. Their TV episodes try to build for PPVs, but often times can't because so much happens between the TV taping and the PPV that its just hard to fully grasp what is going on. The PPV's seem to matter the most out of everything, and really move storylines forward, with the TV tapings kind of helping.

This is all in my opinion. I love ROH, great stuff, but just hard to fully invest when everything is just so spread out when it comes to watching and following. I've pretty much given up on following their TV schedule, unless I am up that late or read something really good about."

Unfortunately, the problem for ROH, in addition to internal issues, is that WWE is slowly killing them by turning NXT into ROH with better production, and then raiding them for a lot of their talent (which I would guarantee is going to happen in the early part of this year).

The amazing I've come to realize over the years is the WWE is best when they have competition. When there's no competition, they have zero reason to try. Hence 2001.

I think Adam Cole bay bay is certainly on his way to NXT this year. I thought for sure Jay Lethal would be as well but I read last week he re-signed with ROH. So, that is good that they're keeping one of the major players around for a bit longer. But there isn't anyone in ROH that is ready to make the jump to WWE and be successful more than Lethal is.

I heard Kyle O'Reilly MAY be headed to NXT too, and Fish may be finishing up with ROH. That'd be cool to see reDRagon in NXT/WWE and take on American Alpha or something... but ROH is really losing their major players.

As That Drummer Guy said: WWE needs competition. TNA is not competition anymore (if they ever really were), ROH just doesn't seem that important anymore to be competition, Lucha Underground, nope, there is just isn't anything. NJPW is there, but they really are a completely different market.

What would you predict the main WM matches are going to be this year?


I know we're obviously getting Big Show vs. Shaq, Brock vs. Goldberg, and Triple H vs. Seth Rollins.

I'm thinking: Cena vs. Undertaker, Owens vs. Jericho, AJ vs. Samoa Joe, some sort of mixed tag blow off with Ambrose/Rene vs. Miz/Maryse.
