Couch Slut, Show of Bedlam, IRN, Bridgitte Bardon't and Noose Talk

Noose Talk was really terrible. They had so many false starts, so much falling out of time with one another and so many mistakes; then during their one good song the drummers kit fell over and they had to stop. Maybe the most facepalmy set I've seen all year. I really felt bad for them. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it was their first show.
Bridgitte Bardon't was probably the most awkward performance I've ever seen. She was a rather attractive young lady moaning in the microphone over minimalistic ambient noises and moving somewhat suggestively around the dance floor. Her music reminded me of the first song on the first Sigur Ros album. But her lyrics were quite dark and sounded like she’d experienced some bad shit. Which made the way she conducted herself all the more awkward. It was an experience but it went on way too long.
We went and got some French fries and got back just in time for IRN. They were definitely better than the previous two acts. Just some punishingly heavy, painfully slow sludge. Pretty good though.
After that was a band called Show of Bedlam. They were pretty good too. They had some pretty good sounds but their set was way too long. The whole show was long though. Doors were at 8pm and these guys went on at midnight.
The final band was called Couch Slut and they were the injection this show needed. They reminded me of the Jesus Lizard but with female vocals. And they did things right. Every other band was okay to good but all of them played for way too long in my opinion. But Couch Slut played a quick twenty-five minute set of rocky, noise music and that was it. That was actually five minutes longer than they were going to play but it was the last night of their tour and they decided to play one more song. They weren’t the best band I’ve seen this year but they made a show I really wasn’t enjoying too much worth seeing.
