Transformers: the Last Knight was...was...something? It started out really strong. I liked the flashback to the Middle Ages. Then even the first bit in present time was really good. But once they got to Anthony Hopkins characters castle it fell apart. The last act was typical cool shit: robots blowing stuff up. But the thing was a mess. It felt like there were multiple crews shooting different scenes all with a vague idea and outline of what they were to make. It was all over the place. But I'm past looking for story, plot and character development in these movies. I just want to see robots blowing shit up; even if I have no idea why they're blowing up whatever they're blowing up. It was much better than the last one though. But I'd still cut a half an hour to forty-five minutes out of it.
some other positives? Hound lasted through the whole movie. Megan Fox wasn't even mentioned (although a picture of whatshisname from the first three movies was). New hot piece of ass wasn't annoying...or was as annoying as every other human character.
some negatives aside from how much of a mess it was? Megatrons new crew was terrible but they're in it for about five minutes. From what I remember of the last movie it ended with Megatron as Galvitron...but he's Megatron in this one again. Anthony Hopkins character was terrible. And the final scene having credits playing over it pissed me off. It's like after five movies all of a sudden Michael Bay decided to be an "artiste".
Bah, it's a fucking mess but it was a better mess than the last one.
5.5/10
